A Chrome 288?

All the usual caveats on this one.

Is this really a chrome 288, or did someone attach a 288 cover to something else?

Comes with a nice spare 075 for your collection.

It looks like someone used a tape found in Plumbing and AC duct work to wrap the body of the driver.

I'd thought about that too Gary, and it's very plausible. But having worked with that "tape" in the past, i know it's **** near impossible to get more than an inch of that stuff down without a crease, that driver body looks pretty smooth to me.

Another thing i did notice however, is that they've used oversize nuts as spacers on the mounting bolts. I hope someone didn't use bolts that were too long and crank them in, we know what that does.

Looks like an SS sleeve slipped over a 288. someone must have found one that was a perfect fit. Doubt that is factry. BTW, 20 years a go there were small chrome shops, you could get ANYTHING chromed.

But again- if you look closely it's a sleeve over the driver.
